If you've been following me for a while, you know how much I love mixing and creating my own at-home concoctions for healthy hair and skin care. Here is one of my super easy, go-to favorites for perfect, supple, naturally moisturized hair and skin!
You will need:
4oz Raw African Shea Butter - Natural UV Protectant, Natural Moisturizer
4oz Raw Mango Butter - Natural Moisturizer, Rich in Vitamins A, B, C, and E
6-8tbsp Extra Virgin Coconut Oil - Highly Moisturizing, Hair and Skin Softener
4-6tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil - Known as Nature's Gold, Rich in Vitamin E
1 tbsp Vitamin E Oil - Nature's Healing Oil
10 drops Essential Oil: Jasmine, Lavender, Chamomile, etc (Your Choice) - Aromatherapy
Gently melt ingredients in a double boiler and whip with a handheld mixer until smooth. Let sit/cool for a few minutes until mixtures solidifies. Whip again with mixer, then jar and enjoy! I apply my butters to damp hair before braiding or twisting, and on wet skin (straight out of the shower). A little goes a long way!
Most times, I adjust my measurements based on what ingredient I feel my hair needs the most of. The possibilities are endless when it comes to mixing oils and butters for the perfect blend. Just be sure not to add any ingredients that are water based, or you risk your mixture molding and going rancid (ew)!
