![]() Our most beloved, natural-haired, throwback Hip Hop artist, Lauren Hill, faces some serious charges after pleading guilty in federal court to 3 counts of failing to not file federal tax returns. Hill failed to pay a total of around $504,000 in taxes during her $1.8 Million income back in 2005 to 2007. She may be saved, though, with a very necessary 5-song recording contract with Sony, which will help to pay things off. Judge Madeline Cox; Hill’s Newark, New Jersey judge, decided to postpone the singer’s sentencing to May 6th to give her some time to get her act together. If payment is not met, Hill will be facing time.
Judge Madeline’s decision to postpone sentencing does not, of course, let her off the hook. Judge says: “"This is not someone who stands before the court penniless… Actions speak louder than words.” Hill has not issued out a new song since 2002, so we’ll see how this Sony recording contract goes. It’s down to the wire. But seriously what are your thoughts? Will she work it out? -The Black Hair Guru
